Problem 3. Finding the Dimensions of a Rectangle

SOLID MENSURATION PROBLEMS

     3.   A garden plot is to contain 200 sq. ft. If its length is to be twice its width, what should its                  dimensions be?
Let x be the Width and 2x be the Length.
x = Width
2x = Length

The area of the rectangle is L x W so

Now we got the value of the width which is 10 ft. We will substitute the value of x to the equation of the length.

The dimensions of the garden plot is :
                            20 ft. x 10 ft.
